🙅♀️ CES 2021 is going online-only, and you already know why (Android Authority). This is probably secondary news to if it was going to still happen in person! But it’s a pretty huge loss for the industry which met in Vegas each year to show off tech for the coming year and beyond, networked, and so on. My colleagues are basically relieved given the stresses. Berlin’s IFA 2020 is still happening, but with strict limits and controls.

There was a bunch of news yesterday about BMW’s more direct move towards electric vehicles. BMW has had electric and hybrid models of course, but has played it all pretty safe, without a dedicated EV platform, which has led to competitors like Tesla and Audi getting ahead with their approaches.
But BMW is also doing some weird things: BMW patents a weird driving yoke to manually control autonomous vehicles (Jalopnik).
Which is to say, a very unusual steering wheel/device/thing that is very different to how we control a car today. Just look at the patent:
Finally, not weird enough for you? What about this eBussy, from Electric Brands, a modular EV that's also a camper, pickup truck and more (Engadget). Gay Twitter had fun with the name, you can find out why yourself...
Keep your eyes on the road ahead,
