The Oculus Rift launched in March 2016 with a lineup of exciting and new games, though there weren’t any real killer apps, with most being simple experiences or straight ports with VR thrown on top.
Most of the Oculus Rift games coming out now are no longer just ports, but rather they are built specifically for virtual reality. Some of them cost $5, others cost $60. Buying every game for the Rift at this point would certainly cost as much as the device, if not more. Not everything is worth your time, but at least a dozen or so are. There are even a few AAA games starting to slowly trickle out, though some are better than others.
These are the best Oculus Rift games so far: the ones that have amazed us, scared us, and made us feel like we where playing games for the first time. Keep in mind, most of these have been on the market for quite a while. Simply put, VR games haven’t seen many blockbusters recently but the good news is 2019 is looking to be a banner year with several interesting Rift games coming down the pipe – which we’ll talk about in another article.
